STATEMENT OF FAITH - WHAT WE BELIEVE
1. THE TRIUNE GOD: We believe in one God, Creator, and Sustainer of all things, infinite in love, perfect in judgments, and unchanging in mercy. God exists eternally in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. They are equal in power and in glory. (Hebrews 1:1-3, 2 Corinthians 13:14)
2. THE WORD OF GOD: We believe that the Bible in its original language is the inspired, authoritative, infallible Word of God. Because the Bible is historically accurate and God breathed, we believe it has the power to transform our lives in all matters. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
3. HUMANKIND: We believe that all mankind is lost eternally without Jesus Christ. We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, but sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Therefore, everyone is eternally lost and is incapable of saving himself or herself. Every person is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit. God in His mercy sent His son Jesus Christ so that all who will trust in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16-18, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1)
4. JESUS: We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His sufferings and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:18)
5. HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person. He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He is a supernatural agent of God in regeneration of the lost. The Holy Spirit indwells all believers and seals them in the body of Christ. He is a divine teacher who guides believers into all truth. We believe that the Holy Spirit empowers and equips believers with spiritual gifts that enables them to proclaim the Gospel and manifest the Kingdom of God in the world. (Joel 2:28-29, Romans 1:11, 1 John 4:13)
6. SALVATION: We believe that salvation is the gift of God by grace alone and is received through repentance and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. God graciously justifies and regenerates all who trust in Jesus Christ. Believers become children of God and begin to live in holiness through faith in Christ and the sanctifying Spirit. (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:23)
7. HEAVEN & HELL: We believe that Heaven is the hope and the eternal reward for believers and that Hell is a literal place of eternal separation from God for those who are lost. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Matthew 25:46, 2 Thessalonians 1:9)
8. THE CHURCH: We believe that the body of Christ is composed of all born-again believers everywhere without respect to race, color or denomination. We believe that the local Church is composed of believers who come together for worship, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism. (Hebrews 10:25)
9. HUMAN SEXUALITY & MARRIAGE: We uphold the authority of Scripture on all matters, including human sexuality and marriage. We recognize our counter-cultural positions run contrary to the tide of the culture. We will continue to demonstrate God’s love for all people even as we affirm the Bible’s teaching, that all sexual relations, intimacy, and fantasies outside of a committed heterosexual marriage between one man and one woman constitutes sin. God calls and frees us to walk in purity and empowers us to abstain from sexual immorality." (1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Hebrews 13:4)
10. GOD’S ULTIMATE VICTORY: We believe in God’s ultimate victory over Satan and all evil and the establishment of His perfect Kingdom in a new heaven and a new earth.
